Look out for #1

You owe it to yourself

If you dropped dead today your employer would begin looking for your replacement tomorrow... at the latest.

When I began interviewing at Sapper Consulting, I'd already had an offer in hand from a competing agency.

Sapper came in at the very last minute and felt like a better fit, so I had to let the other company down.

It sucked, and what made it worse was that the CEO of the agency that offered me became totally unhinged and started accusing me of some wild stuff.

It wasn't a fun call, but I'm glad it happened.

That CEO validated the bad vibes I was getting from him, as well as the decision to go work at Sapper.

The funny thing is, there was part of me that was like "Well, they already made the offer and I've been telling them how much I want to work there... I sort of owe them". 🙃

You don't owe anyone anything.

Sometimes that means having uncomfortable conversations.

The first time I met Chris Cicconi was when I worked I Sapper Consulting.

He was a BDR Director at one of our client’s. I had to follow up on some Cadences that our team wrote for them.

He emailed me back letting me know that they weren’t that great and he was surprise anyone would pay money for them 🤣

Had a fun time recounting that and also talking about what it takes to transition from BDR to Manager.
